A Story of the Modern Development of Confucianism

——Under the Confucianism of the Confucianism as a Recruitment

Bao CaiAbstract: In 1980, Chen Lin wrote the article “Tang Junyi, Teacher Tang Junyi’s Late Philosophical ThoughtsBao Cai Network ppt” to commemorate Tang Junyi, and used the “New Development of Confucianism” published in his early years to explain that the Confucian thinking in 1940 was similar to Tang Junyi’s purpose. This article uses this recitation article to try to trace back to a concrete structure of the modern development of Confucianism. Among the three publications “Xueheng”, “National Style” and “Thinking and Times” that have been closely related, there is a development aspect of Confucianism’s thoughts involving the times and from “edge” to “middle”. Through the comparison between Jin Lin and Tang Junyi, the first-class characteristics and philosophical basis of new Confucianism can be demonstrated. The development of Confucianism in modern times is worth considering and reflecting.

From October to November 1983, Teacher Cheng Lin went to Drumbi Hong Kong to teach Chinese. During this period, Teacher Cheng Junyi’s wife, thanked Ting Guangmis, invited Tang Junyi’s fortune, and won the “The Existence of Life and the Realm of Spirit”. After that, Cecilia Cheung wrote an article about “Teacher Junyi, Teacher Tang Junyi, Late Philosophical Thoughts”. At the end of this article, Jo Lin made the following statement:

 

I published the book “Civilization and Life” in 1947. The first article in the book is the original manuscript of my public lecture in Northeast Kunming in 1942. The topic is “a new development of Confucianism”, and the focus of this is also the neo-Confucianism’s thoughts. In this book, I also pointed out the intrinsic theory of benevolence and sincerity and the meaning of world view in Confucianism, and defined the way and method of becoming a new Confucian scholar. It is also the point where the above follows the way of Confucius and Mencius, and the following is to ask the similarities between Zhu and Monkey King (see the articles of “New Reviews of Confucian Confucian Song” and “Yunxiangshan and Wang Anshi”.) It is also the same as that of the Tang Dynasty’s teacher “respecting Confucius and Mencius” and “staying with Zhu and Monkey King” and “remaining Zhu and Monkey King” are also different.

 

Through this article, the academic community has discussed the compatibility between the New Confucian thinking in the late period of Jin Lin and the New Confucian thinking of Tang Junyi. This article is quoted from this recitation article and tries to return to the world of thinking and history, and to delve into the differences between the two teachers, Master Chan and Tang.To understand the complexity of modern Confucianism, it reminds us of the theoretical and practical aspects of the overall development of the new Confucianism, which can be regarded as a sensible theory (fantasy theory), especially the complex aspect of the “edge” to “middle” of the “middle” of the modern thought trend, which is worthy of attention and consideration.

 

1. From “Xueheng” to “National Style” and “Thinking and Times”: An exploration of the flow of thought

 

The article “New Development of Confucian Thought” mentioned by Chan Lin in his recitation article was published in the 1st issue of “Thinking and Times” published in August 1941. From the perspective of thinking about history, this article was only remembered by the publication of its concept of “new Confucianism” and the “new development of Confucianism” – these people are recording knowledge competition programs. She is a plan and has the main meaning in the modern development of Confucianism. Based on this article and the “some words about civilization and life problems written during the eight years of the Anti-Japanese War” (1947) 3, Chen Lin undoubtedly had the ideological positioning of “modern neo-Confucianism”. The author once wrote the 4th article “A Study on the New Development of Confucian Thought of the Chinese Confucian Thought” to specifically examine the theoretical characteristics of the new development of Confucian Thought of Confucian Thought, pointing out that “A Study on the New Development of Confucian Thought of Confucian Thought” is the main ideological text of the Chinese Confucian Thought of Confucian Thought, and has a complex relationship with the contemporary thoughts, and has realized the thinking characteristics of seeking the modern development of Confucian Thought with Sun Zhongshan’s “Three Issues” to realize Confucian Thought. In my discussion, this article begins with the publication “Thinking and Times” to trace a Confucian thinking trace from the Xueheng School to remind you that there is a scattered flow in the modern development of Confucian thinking.

 

In August 1941, “Thinking and Times” was published in Zhejiang University of Literature in Xiyang. “Thinking and Times” and the previous two publications “Suheng” and “National Style” “has a major connection in personnel relations and thinking energy”5, both of which are in line with the principle of “prospering the country and melting new knowledge”, but “Thinking and Times” does not simply copy “Suheng”. “Thinking and Times” does not conceal its own interest in contemporary thinking, and it also does not conceal its goal of combining the critical construction of contemporary thinking civilization with the great task of rejuvenating the nation”6. Regarding the historical connection, organizational changes and continuity of the author group in the three publications, “Su Heng” (1922-1Purchase933), “National Style” (1932-1936) and “Thinking and Times” (1941-1948), Shen Huiwei has very detailed tests and explanations in “The “Su Heng School” Relationship: History and Description”. “The last member of the “Suheng” club except Liu Boming’s past (“Guo Feng”The “Teacher Chief Liu Boming’s Commemoration” also published the article published by Liu Yuan in “Xueheng”), and Wu Mi, Mei Guangdi, Hu Xianzhi, Liu Wenzheng, Tang Yongtong and others wrote the manuscript for “National Style”. “Compared with “National Style” in “Xueheng”, the new authors include Zhang Taiyan, Zhu Xizu, Money Book, Hu Guangqing, Fan Cunzhong, Tang Guizhang, Lu Qian, Ren Zhongmin, Tang Junyi, Jin Changqun, Money Nanyang, Teng Gu, Xie Guoqing, Qi Yishan, Qi Gongquan, Chen Yuzhang, Li Yuancheng, Zhu Wei, etc. Most of these people are the teachings of the central major”7. Regarding “Thoughts and the Times”:

 

“National Style” is the post-sum of “Thoughts and the Times” and “Thoughts and the Times” are the post-sum of “Thoughts and the Times”. Many of the original authors of “Thoughts and the Times” wrote articles for “Thoughts and the Times”.

 

From the team of authors of “Thoughts and the Times”, Zhang Qiyun, Zhang Zhilin, Jing Changyan, Mei Guangdi, Guo Binhe, Lu Guanglai, Tang Jun Yi, Xu Jinzhi, Wu Mi, Liu Yongqi, Zhu Binghai, Weng Wenhao, Wang Yingxian, Zhu Fenglin, Chen Luci, Hu Xianzhi, Zhu Keling, Lu Yudao, Xie Jiarong, Chen Lin, Jin Changqun, Fan Cunzhong, Ren Meijia, Fang Hao, and Baocong were all the original authors of “Guofeng”. New authors are important money Mu, Rongyoulan, Xiong Shili, Zhu Guangyin, and Xie Youwei, and are concentrated in the humanities. At that time, Zhang Zhilin and Xie Youwei in Zhejiang were respectively responsible for manuscripts of history and philosophy. Chen Lin, an important author of “Thinking and Times”, is the classmates of Zhang Zhilin and Qinghua and the classmates of the Department of Philosophy of the Harvard Department of Philosophy 8.

Of course, it cannot be discussed from a simple author’s examination and explanation. It also needs to explain the revitalization of his energy tradition in inheritance.
